In an effort to strengthen the culture of legal compliance and promote competitiveness within the market, the firms Pérez Mena and Orozco have joined with Santamarina + Steta to conduct informative workshops on the Registry of Providers of Specialized Services or Works (REPSE) for affiliated companies of the Automotive Cluster of Guanajuato.
The REPSE, a mandatory registry for providers of specialized services, is a crucial component for complying with legal obligations, particularly in labor, tax, and social security areas. As Andrés Rodríguez, a member of the Santamarina + Steta law firm, pointed out during the workshop, this registry not only impacts the labor sphere but also has tax and social security implications, making it a fundamental aspect for companies wishing to comply with current regulations and remain competitive in the market.
Regina Orozco, from the Pérez Mena and Orozco law firm, emphasized the importance of implementing policies and training in the corporate governance of companies so that both employees and senior management are familiar with the REPSE registry and can make informed decisions when hiring suppliers.
It is important to note that, with the recent reform prohibiting outsourcing, companies can only hire providers registered in the REPSE who provide specialized services. Therefore, it is crucial for companies to identify these providers and conduct due diligence before hiring them to avoid potential sanctions.
The workshop, which took place at the Puerto Interior in the city of Silao, had as its main objective to raise awareness among companies in the Automotive Cluster about the obligations of the REPSE registry and provide them with the necessary tools to identify and select providers who comply with these obligations. The workshop speakers highlighted the importance of knowing the requirements and documentation necessary for the REPSE registration, as well as the frequency with which this registration must be renewed to avoid sanctions in the event of a labor inspection.
