ZKW was founded in Austria over 80 years ago, initially
focusing on the automotive industry. Recently, it was acquired
by the LG Group, a Korean brand known for electronics and
home appliances, which is currently its largest shareholder.

The company primarily produces lighting systems and
typically specializes in high-end vehicles, as they found their niche
in those premium vehicles. "The headlights
we manufacture are a very important product from a design standpoint and
are an emotional product that often influences the purchasing decision," commented Jan
Seumenicht, Vice President and General Manager of ZKW Mexico.

ZKW has a research center within its facilities,
meaning that a significant portion of the design used for headlight
production is developed in Mexico. At their Mexican plant, they carry out
complete processes, from the RFQ to the end end
of service.

Among the innovation projects they are working on, one that
stands out is a mechatronic and animation system within the headlight. Jan Seumenicht
highlighted that this will be one of the most significant innovations in automotive
lighting in the industry. "We are also developing cosmetic elements
never before seen in vehicles," he added.

As strengths, the director highlights innovation and their
employees, as they have developed a solid and motivated team with the
mission of generating products of high engineering and technical levels.

The company has been nominated within NAFTA due to several
projects. "The automotive industry in Mexico is growing at a sustained
level, and we have been winning projects with an increasing number of
clients, which has led us to increase our production capacity," said
the vice president of ZKW.

This year, they face the challenge of starting operations in what
they call Phase 2, which is an additional 24,000 m2 that they have just finished and
are filling with production lines for the new products.
Additionally, in March, they will begin Phase 3, which involves adding
more employees and continuing to compete to expand their portfolio of
clients.

ZKW currently has 1,200 employees, and in the coming
years, they project growth to 2,500. They are actively seeking talent from
production line roles to executive positions.
