Walor, the French-origin company, announced and inaugurated the expansion of its operations on February 28, 2023, within the Guanajuato Industrial Center Park.
The inauguration was attended by several dignitaries, including the Constitutional Governor of the state of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo; the Secretary of Sustainable Economic Development, Ramón Alfaro Gómez; the Mayor of Irapuato, Lorena Alfaro; the President of the Automotive Cluster of Guanajuato, Rolando Alaniz; the industrial developer of the Guanajuato Industrial Center Park, Antonio Rodríguez Fuentes; the Asia-Americas Director and Director of the Walor Irapuato plant, Sylvain Lassalle; and the President and CEO of Walor International, Xavier de Saint Guilhem.
During his speech, Xavier de Saint Guilhem mentioned that this expansion would not have been possible without the commitment and dedication of the employees of Walor Irapuato. In addition to recognizing them, he thanked them for their effort and congratulated them on the results achieved. He reiterated that they have complete confidence in them to continue Walor's growth.
He also mentioned that Walor is prepared for the new automobile, as all their products and processes feature the highest technology and are innovating.
On the other hand, the plant director in Irapuato, Sylvail Lasalle, mentioned that they started activities in 2014 with an initial investment of 1 million euros and 20 employees, and by 2022, the investment had added an additional 10 million euros and 160 employees.
Governor Diego Sinhue commented that: "Walor Irapuato is a leading, innovative, competitive, and global company... today, Walor is a company that builds the greatness of Guanajuato because it is driving the development of its people." He also reiterated the government's commitment to the automotive industry.
In this new expansion, 9 million euros were invested in a second warehouse with precision turning technology, which will allow them to reach over 25 million euros in production. This is thanks to the manufacturing of new components using new technologies and materials. Starting in April 2023, the plant will have a solar canopy that will enable them to save 7,444 trees and avoid the production of 4,200 tons of CO2 over 25 years.
