As part of the 5th stage of the JICA Project "Strengthening the automotive cluster in Mexico," the final presentation of KAIZEN activities on the production floor (2023) was held at the CLAUGTO CEDE. Six companies presented their projects, demonstrating continuous improvement in their processes and products.
The current project has focused on the following four pillars with the aim of contributing to the strengthening of the automotive supply chain in Mexico and assisting in increasing the national procurement index.
- Expanding business meetings and corporate encounters.
- Extending KAIZEN activities on the production floor and strengthening support capabilities through joint activities of Tier-1 and Tier-2.
- Strengthening training activities and workshops.
- Establishing an industry-government-academia linkage system, and creating a corporate support system.
During the KAIZEN assistance activities implemented to date in the 4 states, a total of more than 130 Tier-1 and Tier-2 companies participated. Additionally, thanks to the support of Tier-2 companies, candidates for KAIZEN trainers were trained within their companies.
We recognize the effort and dedication to achieving such good results in implementing KAIZEN on the shop floor to the Guanajuato companies: ARBOMEX, G-ONE, KASAI, KOSTAL, MAQUITEC, MYPI, PEC, SANNOHASHI, and YOROZU.
Likewise, we appreciate the participation throughout the project and attendance of the Consul of Japan in León, Mr. Okumira; the leader of the JICA expert team, Mr. Shuichi Takano; the deputy leader of the JICA expert team, Mr. Akihiro Inada; the JICA team expert, Koji Yo; and the Undersecretary for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises (SDES), Joel Froylas Salas.
