To conclude the Claugto Automotive Congress, the president of the Automotive Cluster of Guanajuato, Rolando Alaniz, addressed some words of gratitude to the attendees, as well as to the sponsors and strategic allies who made this event possible.
Sergio Sarmiento was in charge of the last conference in the series of 19, and he began by stating that Mexico is a country with democracy. He explained that although citizens often make questionable decisions regarding their leaders, eventually, this can change, therein lies the virtue of being a democratic country.
He stated that Mexico is experiencing times of party alternation in power and mentioned that the country will experience economic growth, but will reach a point of stagnation, where fixed investment will decrease. He shared some graphs showing the behavior of gross fixed investment, indicating that one of the most affected sectors, according to Sergio, is the construction industry.
At this point, the speaker emphasized the importance of the automotive industry, considering it plays a significant role in the economic recovery in the coming years due to its high competitiveness in Mexico.
With this presentation, which was broadcast for free on Facebook and sponsored by Monex, the conference program concluded.
Sarmiento hosts the program "La Red de Radio Red" on Grupo Radio Centro and "La Entrevista con Sarmiento" on TV Azteca. His column "Jaque Mate" is published in over 20 newspapers across the country. He has also written for The Wall Street Journal and Los Angeles Times.
He is a member of the World Media Leaders at the World Economic Forum in Davos. He has been awarded the title of Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters of the French Republic. In 2003, he was awarded the Antenna Prize for his professional career.
