Yesterday, the 4th webinar of a series of 9 was held, each one focusing on a topic related to the evaluation of the Claugto Accreditation. On this occasion, the topic was "Lean Manufacturing," titled "Lean Way, a Path to Success," and it was conducted by experts from Cheverly, a partner company of Claugto.
Mr. Jadermil Martins, CEO & Founder of Cheverly, is responsible for preparing companies and guiding them in the proper implementation of a culture of continuous improvement. Acting as consultants, they assist in the correct use and application of Lean tools to improve processes and reduce costs for the company.
Engineer Felipe Bergesch, Lean Manager at Cheverly, opened the event by explaining the historical evolution of industrial engineering and how it led to the beginning of what we know as Lean Manufacturing, around 1982, with three main pillars: agile production, supply chain, and lean philosophy.
He mentioned that the Lean philosophy is based on learning, meaning that from all the activities carried out within the company, there should be reflection, and based on that, necessary modifications should be made to generate processes or systems for eliminating losses and problem-solving.
Engineer Adriana Valenzuela's presentation focused on continuous improvement, which essentially involves subjecting business activities to processes that lead to positive evolution in those activities.
There are three fundamental aspects to consider in this regard: "crises or problems are opportunities for growth; everything is susceptible to improvement; and what is not measured cannot be improved."
Engineer Felipe Bergesch, Lean Manager at Cheverly, closed the event by mentioning some systems involving Lean culture immersion, including: Talent development, results management, flow management (VSM), Shojinka (flexibility), just in time, team efficiency, supply chain efficiency, technology efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement.
