Miguel Reyes, coordinator of the Human Capital and Asset Security committees, opened the conference by Susana Montero, Director of Social Communication of the Attorney General's Office of the State of Guanajuato, in which it was discussed how to proactively handle information and communicate it assertively.
Susana mentioned that the communication of security issues is in constant crisis and explained that sometimes problems must be addressed immediately, but at other times, it is worth waiting. Additionally, it is important to identify if we are generating the crisis ourselves or if the crisis originated from another source, and if so, it is necessary to identify which source.
• She also highlighted the 7 C's of assertive communication: Courteous, concise, complete, correct, coherent, concrete, and clear. She delved into the topic by making the following recommendations:
All events are important.
• Use a direct style.
• Use short sentences.
• Describe with effective words.
• Observe.
• Listen.
• Action is manifested in the verb.
• Always consider other people.
• Present the facts, don't judge.
• Find what evokes emotion in you and describe it clearly so that others can feel it too.
