Kromberg & Schubert specializes in the production of automotive harnesses, which are essentially all the wiring for the electrical system inside a car. The company's investment comes from Germany, and the majority of its clients are of German origin.
They have two plants in Mexico. The first one was established nearly 16 years ago in Irapuato, where they produce products for Tier 1 and Tier 2 clients, as well as Audi, Mercedes Benz, and Chrysler. In 2016, they began the project of a plant in San Francisco del Rincón for the production of harnesses destined for Mercedes Benz and for export to the United States.
They also have a polymer transformation plant, or plastic molding facility, for BMW, Mercedes Benz, and soon for Volkswagen.
This 2022, the San Francisco del Rincón plant will focus on three main points:
• Increase in efficiency by 6 points compared to the previous year.
• Increase quality by around 10 points compared to the previous year.
• Implementation of an Organizational area with a comprehensive focus on personnel development.
Regarding the last point, the company has worked on implementing strategic planning tools to manage their projects in a more structured manner. At the beginning of January, they received consultancy to implement the Hoshin Kanri methodology, which is also being utilized in the Human Resources area.
As part of the HR structure, there is a constant focus on innovation in practices. Marisol Aguirre, Regional HR Manager of Kromberg & Schubert Mexico, highlighted efforts to enhance employee well-being. Since 2015, the teamwork has been focused on increasing the purchasing power of all employees, benefits, medications... "I am very proud of the practices we have to retain and attract people [...] since our main process is labor-intensive, people are super important and this new structure will be key to the organization's success," commented the manager.
