Industry 4.0 at Bosch: Experience in transformation and best practices

Óscar Maldonado, Key Account Manager at Bosch, began his conference by explaining that Industry 4.0 has gone through several stages before becoming what it is today: Mechanization, electrification, digitization, and connected industry.

"The Industry 4.0 connects people with technology and information," commented the expert, adding that it helps better leverage data for decision-making. 

He stated that some of the best practices for implementing Industry 4.0 in companies include: low-cost sensors, cheap and unlimited CPUs, GPS location, internet, cheap and unlimited storage, and software/hardware with better usability.

Finally, he closed by recommending some steps:

Creation of Industry 4.0 vision and strategy.

Use case mapping and evaluation.

Conceptual development.

Technical specification.

Implementation of solutions.
