On November 29th, the inauguration of the third expansion and the laying of the foundation stone for phase 3.2 took place at the ZKW facilities in Guanajuato. This event was attended by prominent figures, including the Governor of the state of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo; the Secretary of Sustainable Economic Development, Ramón Alfaro Gómez; Dominic Boulegue, General Manager of the plant in Silao; ZKW's CEO, Wilhelm Steger; and the General Director of the Guanajuato Puerto Interior Industrial Park, Héctor López Santillana.
ZKW, the Austrian Tier 1 with over 80 years of experience in innovation in lighting and electronic systems for high-end vehicles, has strengthened its presence in Mexico since it began operations in Guanajuato in 2014. The company has stood out as a leader in the sector, experiencing the most expansions in such a short time. This phenomenon is a clear indication of the confidence and growth in the region.
With the implementation of this new phase, as well as the laying of the foundation stone for phase 3.2, the projection is to generate 2,000 new jobs, significantly contributing to the economic and social development of Guanajuato. ZKW aims to achieve a production of 4 to 5 million lights by the year 2026.
This expansion marks a significant achievement for our partner ZKW and at the same time for the state of Guanajuato in the industrial landscape.
