León, Gto, August 17, 2021 - The inauguration of the CLAUGTO Automotive Congress and Supplier Forum in its 8th edition took place; the virtual event began with the president of the Guanajuato Automotive Cluster, Rolando Alaniz, who recognized that this forum has become the most important in Mexico in the automotive sector since 2013, which he said is a tradition that links the national industry with the automotive supply chain, generating more than 85,000 direct jobs and another 100,000 indirect jobs in the state of Guanajuato.
He added that the Automotive Industry in Guanajuato continues to grow and to do so it is necessary to strengthen the local supply chain, therefore, Claugto has designed different strategies such as:
• Sharing best practices.
• Continuous improvement.
• Talent development.
• Workplace culture.
At the same time, we had the presence of the director of the Automotive Cluster of Guanajuato, Alfredo Arzola, who summarized what the industry was like 10 years ago, emphasizing the growth in the number of industrial parks, which started with 6 and are currently 36; job creation, from 50,000 to 180,000; and automotive exports.
Additionally, he emphasized that human capital and security have undergone significant changes that have impacted the economy of the state of Guanajuato and its dynamism.
During the event, it was reported that, despite this pandemic, space has been opened to experience "The New Era of Organizations," a concept of the congress, which focuses not only on the automotive sector but also on different industries.
He thanked all the sponsors and strategic alliances for making the event possible and for promoting cooperation between government, business, academia, and society, in order to take advantage and continue to be one of the most competitive states.
Later, Ana Guerrero, Purchasing Manager at Mazda Logistics, and Diego Viveros, Commercial Director of Eminpack, who represents an important company from Guanajuato specialized in packaging manufacturing, took the floor, addressing recommendations to prepare for business meetings.
Next, Miriam Galván, coordinator of the Operational Excellence Committee at CLAUGTO, explained the importance of this event at a national and international level through a series of 20 conferences and 4 workshops, delivered by internationally recognized speakers selected based on the themes revolving around the 5 committees managed by CLAUGTO, which are:
• Human Capital
• Asset Security
• Purchases
• Suppliers
• Operational Excellence
Finally,
he gave the floor to the Secretary of Sustainable Economic Development, Mr. Mauricio Usabiaga Díaz Barriga, who highlighted the importance of SMEs and their integration into global value chains. He mentioned that they represent 99.8% of the country's companies, generate 70% of employment, and contribute 51% to the country's GDP. He added that Mexico has a future, but some strategies should be changed to make it more influential and sustainable. He stated that this would only be possible by strengthening Mexico's internal market through highly competitive local companies that promote the value chain.
To conclude his intervention, the Secretary declared both events inaugurated.
