One of the things that brings me the
most satisfaction is helping people avoid becoming victims of a crime
through preparation and training [...] Another valuable aspect is being
able to provide emotional support to those who have suffered a crime, so they can
recover from the situation assertively. Victims go through many
stages: guilt, thinking they were to blame for their situation; fear,
feeling like it will happen to them again, among others. It is important that when
a person goes through these bad experiences, someone provides them with support"-

After working for 16 years in the
engineering field (aerospace, automotive, mechanical,
automation and robotics, food...), Daniela ventured into the field
of Asset Security, thanks to her talent for getting involved in projects
of different natures simultaneously.

She delved into this area while
working at General Electric, focusing on implementing and maintaining corporate
security programs, which is achieved through
standardizing processes aligned with regulations, industry-imposed standards,
legal requirements of different organizations or
institutions, and more.

The expert commented that
the main challenge in security matters is to stay updated on the
ways in which crime operates, knowing how it infiltrates society and
preparing prevention protocols to reduce the chances of becoming a victim
of any crime, avoiding any kind of losses.

"My ability to manage so
many projects at the same time opened doors for me in
security and since I am an electronic engineer, the area of managing
automated access controls and cameras made sense to me. The
combination of skills and knowledge gained throughout my career
opened up the possibility of working in this area, which traditionally is dominated
by men [...] Gender has nothing to do with it; I believe
it's a matter of skills and capabilities," shared the manager.

Some of the recommendations
she shared for successful performance in the field are:

Working as a team with
all available channels, not only with clients and internal users, but also with the
entire network of business partners, neighbors, associations, authorities, etc. Having
direct collaboration with internal and external agents to share best practices.

Working on prevention programs based on
hard crime data from the city or state in which one is
operating. Including training programs for as many users as
possible; everyone should undergo some form of training.

During the recruitment processes, conduct background
checks to ensure that beneficial individuals are being hired
for the company.

Stay updated through study and
specialization.

I believe my achievements are more
related to a mindset of collaboration, personal growth, and teamwork,
rather than worrying about the rejection I might face as a woman. That
thought was discarded by me from the beginning because otherwise, I would never
have had a career in engineering [...] You perform in a professional manner and
with that, you earn your place in society", she explained to highlight the importance
of teamwork, complementing the skills of all individuals, without
discrimination.

Daniela García holds a master's degree
in Corporate Finance, is bilingual, has many courses and certifications
in Asset Security, and has 16 years of experience in the Security field. She has
focused on the implementation of corporate programs, collaborating with the
management area of ​​different companies belonging to various industries.

She has trained over 10,000 individuals
from different industries and backgrounds through various prevention
and awareness courses. She has recovered losses of over 1 million dollars. Successfully
operated the recovery of more than 30 individuals in two kidnapping incidents
in high-crime states and implemented a strategy to
reduce car theft on the route to the United States from Reynosa,
decreasing from 6 thefts per day to 1 per month.
