The collaborator, the new focus of the business strategy

Miguel Reyes, coordinator of the Human Capital and Asset Security committees, introduced Arturo Villegas, CEO of the Positive Management School, who addressed the new paradigm of organizational productivity based on employee well-being. He explained that when employees are balanced, fulfilled, emotionally healthy, and develop in a positive organizational climate, we will achieve what we all desire: impactful results.

Villegas began his intervention by highlighting that productivity in Mexico is 60% below the OECD average and that 60% of employees hate their jobs. He also mentioned that the most stressful thing for workers is losing their job, and the second cause of stress is work itself.

He added that people who are sad, distressed, depressed, or stressed are more prone to issues such as absenteeism, turnover, unproductivity, conflicts, bad attitudes, burnout, and exhaustion. He also mentioned that, on average, a depressed person can lose up to 15 workdays.

On the other hand, he asserted that happy people have better performance, higher commitment, and work better in teams. That's why he recommended that companies implement measures to help workers feel happy.

Arturo Villegas is the CEO of the Positive Management School, a firm specialized in productivity programs based on organizational well-being and personal happiness. Its mission is to train great professionals and extraordinary human beings to create happier and more productive companies, families, and individuals.
