Course "Customs Reforms and Foreign Trade 2021": ICLAWYERS-CLAUGTO

As part of the CLAUGTO Accreditation project and in collaboration with ICLAWYERS, strategic allies of CLAUGTO, the 'Customs Reforms and Foreign Trade 2021' course was held. Its objective, as the name suggests, was to identify the main modifications in customs and foreign trade matters that affect the operation of companies, seeking to implement the benefits granted by the authority and avoid unnecessary sanctions by fully complying with the new obligations.

About 90 people connected to update themselves on trade topics, to the presentation by Mr. Roberto Carlos Salazar González, current president of the International Trade Committee within the American Chambers of Commerce of Mexico, developed in the Guadalajara chapter.

In general, the changes in foreign trade affecting companies were addressed:

New provisions on customs valuation (deductibles)

• Elimination of Non-Commercialization Letters (NOMs)

• Main criteria on NOM exemption

• LIGIE 2020, implementation of NICO

• Customs operation of the USMCA

• Reforms to the General Rules of Foreign Trade and Customs Regulations

• Regulation of the steel, textile, and footwear sectors

• Modifications to the General Rules of Foreign Trade and Customs Regulations for 2020 and their annexes

• New reality of VAT-IEPS certification and OEA

• Electronic value declaration

• Main criteria published by the SAT in customs matters

• Recomendaciones en la gestión de programas de fomento y
certificados de origen (guías

(processing guides, affidavits)

• Main identifiers in customs clearance

• Changes to the IMMEX decree

• Fiscal Miscellaneous Resolution 2021 and Annex 19

• Federal Revenue Law 2021.
