Automation for Industry 4.0 Professionals

With the aim of aiding scientific development, competitiveness, and the economy of the state of Guanajuato, the Universidad Iberoamericana de León, in conjunction with the Secretaría de Desarrollo Económico Sustentable (SDES) and the Automotive Cluster of Guanajuato (CLAUGTO), designed the Automation Certification for professionals. On August 20th, 36 certificates were awarded to the first generation, including 10 engineers specializing in industrial robotics, computer vision, vision-guided robotics, industrial networks, and automation.

The certification was initially designed to include 195 hours of practice; however, due to the competencies developed by the participating engineers, it was extended to 240 hours. This first generation includes the participation of several companies from the automotive sector such as Kostal, Hutchinson, VCST, RPK, and Grupo Solder.

Secretary Ramón Alfaro shared that "the delivery of these certificates is a very significant event because it shows how things should be done here in Guanajuato. Today, what we are delivering is an effort to bring the educational institution closer to the demands of the productive sector."

He also commented that when we talk about "mentefactura," it must translate into very concrete things, the first being better opportunities for young people and better jobs.

The government should not remain static, he explained, emphasizing that synergy for collaboration between government, industry, private sector, and academia should identify the needs of companies and work to have competitive and skilled labor force.

At this ceremony, in addition to Secretary Ramón Alfaro Gómez, the director of the Automotive Cluster, Alfredo Arzola, and the Director of Employment and Training of the Municipality of León, Christian Hernández, were present. Also in attendance were the Director General of IECA, Juan Carlos López Rodríguez, along with executives from the participating companies.
